My Mothers Words of Wisdom

Growing up I always admired my mother. She is a strong independent woman who has always known what she wants and need in her life. Now that I am all grown up and a mother I remember the wisdom that my mother has passed down to me and I wish to pass on to my children. My mother made sure our health came first and even thou I am 30 years old and pregnant with my second child she is still telling me to drink a lot of water because the importance of hydration. Water is key for our health especially when you are pregnant. You have no idea how many times I get a random phone call from my mom asking me if I drank enough water today? My mom really take healthy family hydration seriously, haha.

So tell me do you have enough water in your diet? I have found that at times drinking just water all day can be boring to add a little bit of taste you can add lime or lemon. The best part is that their are no calories! Also I have found my son will drink a lot more water through the day if he sees me drinking water. We don’t want to fill our kids with sugar all day. My son has enough energy for three kids!

Here are a few more tips!

Mom probably gave you some pure wisdom to help you live a healthy life. That’s why Nestlé® Pure Life® wants to help you share some wisdom on how to stay hydrated this summer.

– Did you know that 60% of an adult body is water? Keep it well hydrated by drinking enough water!

– In addition to drinking plain water every day, eating foods with high moisture content—such as fruits and vegetables—could be a good way to increase total water consumption. Water constitutes 90% of most fruits and vegetables and about 50% of meats.

– Drink water instead of sugary drinks when you’re thirsty. Regular soda, energy or sports drinks, and other sweet drinks usually contain added sugar. To manage your daily calorie intake, sip water or other drinks with few or no calories.

– Drink water with and between your meals. Adults and children take in about 400 calories per day as beverages—drinking water can help you manage your calorie intakes.

– Water is a great choice when it comes to daily hydration.  Have ready-to-go containers filled with water available in the refrigerator. Place them in lunch boxes or backpacks for easy access when kids are away from home.
