Every year I always have the intention of making an advent calendar however, I always seem to run out of time. Of course we all know the holiday season seems to be the busiest of very mommy out there. It seems like I always get a little bit to ambitions in decorating and just can’t get everything done on time. I decided this year to take make it a simple Christmas and minimal was key. Well as minimal as I would I allow myself to get.
Once all the decor was up I saw that I actually could have time to make an advent calendar. The question was what kind should I make? Everyone has their own ideas. I definitely did not want to make a candy or present advent. I believe no present should arrive until Santa comes to visit. Candy just make the kiddos sugar happy, so I started to think what makes me happy. All year I always worry about everyone and I try to make Christmas as magical as I can for the kiddos. So the Christmas advent tag calendar garland was created. I love making tags for the holidays and they all represent the how I am feeling on that particular day.
I began by taking a little trip to Trader Joe, which has the best flower and fresh fruits around here and their prices are good. I love stopping by during the holidays for my mini Christmas trees but this year I went a little early and found that they had garlands and mini wreaths. I’ve never had real garlands or wreaths but decided to make it an adventure.
As soon as I got home I hanged them up on the wall. I had chalkboard frame that I got from decor steal the previous year. However, they are so popular that they keep bringing them back during the year. I attached my wreath to it and placed it on the wall.
I then went ahead and ordered 25 clipboard to be able to hang my tags from them for everyone to see. Its a simple and fast Christmas advent tag calendar garland.
My tag I used a pictures that I just took this past Thanksgiving weekend. Its was a very special moment between my hubby and the kiddos. I then went ahead and printed them out and used a few embellishment to make it pop.
Hope you are all having a wonderful Holiday!
