Book folding Origami Tutorial

Book folding origami has be around for a while and it can help decorate you home beautifully. I have another super fun and easy tutorial for you. All you need to do is three different fold and just repeat it as much as you want. Easy, right?!

Book folding is usually just repeated pattern and page folds and can be relaxing. The first fold is make at the top of the book and repeat for five pages.

Do a center fold and do it for five pages and he same goes for the bottom fold. Continue the folds until your book looks filled. I left about 100 pages on each end as fillers. You might want to do the entire book or not, its all up to you.
Happy folding everyone,

Book Folding Origami & Halloween Tag #2

Its has been a while since I have posted a book folding tutorial. I have been trying to figure out more interesting book folding techniques. So I took to the internet and I found someone who actually had a technique and has made a PDF file which you can purchase. I learned how to make words with the pages! Want to see what I did?

Can you tell what it says? I did not say I have master it yet. I am going to try to give it one more try and see if my second attempt is better.  I think I did not use enough pages to spell Halloween.

If you want to see the tutorial I tried click here. It super easy to read.
Now for the fun!  I have Halloween tag #2 for 31 days of Halloween. I decided to use owls for this tag and bling.

I love using frames for my tags. I am not a big fan of glitter but I think this add that extra something especially when it purple, hehe.

Happy Haunting’s!

Book Page Folding Bird Houses Tutorial

Are you looking for another book page folding tutorial? Here we have it! I found this one at Red Hen Home.

She turn a regular book into cute little book bird houses. They are super cute and she made them into different sizes to make her own little collection. She has step by step tutorial on how to make this cuties and all it takes is an old book and time.

book birdhouses 006

First you need an old book, minus the cover. Around 200 pages will give a very nice, fat, birdhouse. If your book is longer than that, you might end up using some of the end pages for another project.

Fold the first page in half toward the spine.

Then fold the top corner down to meet the spine, making a triangle. Flip that page over; you’re done  with it now.

Book Page Folding Tutorial

I have another book page folding tutorial for you today. As always it a very simple book page fold that anyone can do it. I am doing so many book folding that I am actually don’t have space to display them but I can’t stop! It can be very addictive.  If you don’t have any books that you want to try to book page fold then going to flea market or a thift store to get your hands on some old book is the place to go.
The book fold took me about three days to complete and the book has over 300 pages. Just remember the more pages the book has the more time its going to take to fold. I usually like to work with hardcover books because they look nicer when you display them but its no require for book folding but the soft cover will have a 360 page view since the spine has no support it will curl on it self.
Here we go.

The first two pages fold the top right hand corner a cross the middle of the page. Take the bottom right hand corner and fold to meet the other fold.

The following 14 pages fold sightly higher than the previous page.

Once you have reached page 17 -20 should be folded the same height. Now you need to start from the beginning and do the next 20 pages the same way. If you mess up on any page just rip it out of the book because the fold won’t look right otherwise.

I so wish I could tell you that I have a book fold for you all today but that is not the case. I’ve been messing with a heart fold for a week now with not success. I have come close to it but its not perfect yet. The book folding origami heart fold is not as easy as I though and it takes a lot of concentration  So no T.V. watching while book folding for me.
I came really close with first book I attempt it with. However, not so much with the second one.

I believe with the second book, I just did not have enough pages at the center of the heart. I am back to the drawing board. Wish me luck! I might just not heart this book very much by the end of it. Yes, I know it was corny.

Here are some other tutorial that I have done to keep you busy till next week.

You will need to fold the first page into a triangle. I usually skip the first page of the book because it’s colored and I don’t want the book to look  little odd with just one page that been a different color.

Now all you need to do is fold the next page in half. Continue folding every other page in the same sequence and you will have a wonderful folded book to display in you home.

Now fold four pages the same way you did at the beginning of the book.

Fold the top of  next four pages down more than half way and fold the bottom of the page into a smaller triangle.
Continue to alternate the fold of the pages in the same sequence until you reach the end of the book. The book I use only had 200 pages so it did not take that long to make this art folding book.

Book Folding Art Tutorial

Book folding is a wonderfulway to use/recycle old books instead of throwing them out. I hate to throw out books and decided it would be more fun to have them as decor in my home. Today I have a good treat for you with a brand new tutorial. All it takes is an old book and time. I usually do my book folding while watching TV. It feels like I am actually getting something accomplished while watching TV instead of being a couch potato. So grab a paper back book and rip the covers off and put your favorite show on TV its time to get started.
Its super simple just cut all the pages in half.
Then fold them toward the center of the cut. You will end up with two triangles.
Ta-Da!
You are done. Super simple and easy. It something you can even do with your kids.
Here are a couple more of my tutorial I have done in the past, just in case you need more inspiration!
Till next time stay crafty!
