Design it Girl Blog has a new tutorial on wooden wine crate shelf. She needed extra storage in her laundry room and a wine crate was just what she needed. No wine bottles will be in this crate.
Wine Crate Gets A New Look!
Walking my dogs is always fun, especially on trash day. It gives me an excuse to walk them in certain areas without making it obvious that I am actually going after that chair, or table on the curb waiting for the trash to toss it. One day while walking the dogs i came across this natural wooden crate, I looked and thought its in perfect condition so I picked it up and kept walking, well I started jogging home. At first I cleaned it and just placed in the shed, I already new what I wanted to do to it.
After:
I love the way it turned out, this is my laundry area
and I needed a small storage item to place under the cabinet!
Before:
This wine crate had a lot of dirt inside, so i just cleaned it up
and spray painted her a creme color. A few coats did the job. I wanted to let the wood show through slightly.
I used contact paper to cover the back portion of the crate.
Now to cover up those ugly hoses. This re-do
was simple, cost $0.00, since I already had the
contact paper from previous projects, and the paint.

The contact paper looks really nice. It compliments the wine crate base perfectly. What kind of white paint did you use? I’m guessing Eggshell? Also, did you use glue as an adhesive for the contact paper or something else?
