Grinch Ornaments

I have had my silhouette for a while now but I have not use it very often due to having to take it out of the closet and setting up and then reviewing YouTube video to remember how to use the file and it has become a huge ordeal but I have decided to use it more often this holiday season so we will see how it goes.

I do love watching he Grinch during the holiday season this year is not different, as write this post I am listing to the soundtrack. Its does get me in the mood fast and I made my Grinch ornaments to match my mood.

The first thing I did was coat the inside of the glass ornament with alcohol. If you coat the inside then it will help the glitter stick to the glass ornament.

I then added a coat of Pledge floor cleaner drain it in a cup and added the fabulous green glitter!

I let it dry for 24 hours to make sure the glitter would not come off the ornament.

Now the fun part begins I use my silhouette to cut black vinyl. I used contact paper to transfer the image to the Grinch ornaments. I repeated the same thing to a few more ornament and it looks fantastic.

DIY mini crate stocking holder tutorial

My favorite thing to do this Holiday season is my Christmas Stockings, especially since I am making and extra one for my little baby girl. I decided to make a little vintage crate stocking holders instead of my wooden letters I did a previous year. In each box I added a key element which made it especially for that one person I love so much in my life.

I got the small crates at Hobby lobby but you can find different one at any craft store. I stained them dark wood.
I used Minwax which is my favorite stain ever! One small can has lasted me over a year.

I added a stain with a brush across the front part of the mini crate.

I waited about 30 seconds and wiped off any extra stain left on the top of the wood. I used gloves and a old rag for this part. If not your hands will smell like stain for a couple of days.

Once it was all stained, I let it dry over night.

I got some foliage and filled each mini crate for my stockings with a different theme. I wanted each mini crate to  represent one member of my family. My son picked out a reindeer.

I made of my special bundle of joy that join us this past week. She got a present because she was much of surprise for us and got lucky enough to come before Christmas.

Its tradition every year to get a couple hand picked ornament for our Christmas tree. It has become tradition now that my hubby picks out the ugliest ornament he can find, well at least to me they are a little ugly.

My mini crate Christmas stocking holder have mini frames with each of our names on it. I place the wooden crate on top of the weight stocking holder and you are ready to hang your stocking this holiday season.

What will you be putting your stocking holder?

Day 13 & 14 Halloween Tag!

I had a very busy day yesterday and forgot to post my Day 13 Halloween Tag, so I am going to post it with my 14  day Halloween tag. I hope you were not disappointed in not finding the tag. My day 13 Halloween tag inspiration is the color red. Red is on my couch color, my chair color, rug color, my hubby’s favorite color and on a wedding tag I did too. ( By the way thank you all for the wonderful get well wishes for my hubby. He is feeling a lot better.)  I took Festive cherry Distress ink pad and went to town on a tag.

The next tag it inspiration came from one of Tim Holtz past Halloween tags. I also decided use the new dry glitter that Tim Holtz released. I just love that I can change the glitter color to fit tag and I do love my witches!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. I going to the flea market today and I am super excited!!!!  I can’t wait to show you all the goodies I find.

Halloween Tag day #10

Halloween is the day where you can be anything your imagination can come up with.  However, this year is the first time  that I am struggling to figure out what I am going to be for Halloween. A couple of years ago I was the Mad Hatter for Halloween and  I had a blast.
I have not been able to dress up for Halloween for the past couple of years because first I was pregnant and then my son was born but I no longer have any excuse. So the question is what will I be for Halloween? I really need to buckle down and figure it out because Halloween is around the corner!
Moving on to less stressful things. Here is my day 10 of 31 tags of Halloween.

Here is the video for yesterday tag!

Weekend Recap and Day 8 Tag

This weekend I tried to do chocolate cups! I found this cute little pinterest recipe, however it did not go as smooth as I wanted. I had the chocolate cups in the fridge and decided to pop the balloon right away instead of waiting for the cups to sit at room temperature for a while. Of course the balloon did not come slip off chocolate cups. However, a new problem came to light the apt was super warm and the cups started melting, so everyone had to eat them very fast, hehe. Next time should be better I hope!

Do you want to see what I’ve been up today? Come and take a look at my Day 7 tag for 31 days of Halloween tags!

Who said that we should only use one ribbon! I decided to use three!
I know that my kitty at home loves to play with bugs and I though I would make this kitty do the same. Especially since I really dislike spiders!
