Mailpix Review for Prints!

I had an opportunity to work with MailPix in a wonderful review. I got a

20×30 photo in black and white. The picture is gorgeous beyond belief. I was not expecting such high quality and finish on my photo. It came on a heavy stock and wonderful shine. It looked better than I imagine however, my pictures did not do it justice.

At first I did not know what picture I was going to pick for my photo enlargement, I had a variety of choices. I could download a picture from Facebook or Instagram! I know that most of the time I have photos I wish I could print from social media but I am always afraid the quality will be bad but not with MailPix digital photo printing! All you need to do is download your images from the social media of your choosing then just click on the images of your pictures and select the size on you right hand corner.

The website is supper easy to use and they currently have prints 4×6 for only .10 cents each from Facebook, Instagram or your camera! Its a great deal you guys can’t pass up. I’ve already added about 89 prints to my cart with three 8×10 prints for a grant total of $16.91 only!

Potty Training Tips for Boys

Potty training a boy at times can be very challenging, especially since I (the mom) is home doing all the potty training by myself since the hubby works all day. One thing to always remember is to share your tips and guidance with your hubby and family so your child gets the same reinforcement from everyone. You want to have everyone on the same page. Especially when they get to wear big boy underwear and when training pants are needed. At times I need guidance with how to take my son to the next stage of potty training and to tell you the truth I find that my son is always surprising me because he let me know when he is ready. I had many people telling to wait till my son was three to start potty training because it will be easier. I felt that I would test my son at different stages of his development so he would let me know. I tried it when he was two years old and it was the wrong time. He was not speaking much and he did not understand the concept. I tried again right before he turned two and half and he showed interest. He still was not talking much but I found that it was the perfect time to start. At the beginning it felt like a losing battle at times. He would have one good day and then one bad day. However, I noticed within a couple of weeks that we were having a lot of good days. The key is being positive all the time with you child. As long as they know that you will be super excited each time. Last week was our first real outing to with no diaper or pull ups while at sea world. I did go prepared with extra change of clothes and diapers just in case. We kept a good eye on our son to see if he gave us any sign he needed to go. One tip I will give new parents is at first your child will not tell you they need to go potty but will give you physical signs like doing the pee dance. I have to say our first outing was a success! No accidents the entire day!

Jeannette Kaplun who is a mom who has potty training boys and girls and writes a very popular blog as well as journalist, recognized parenting expert, experience in TV, radio and media in general. Jeannette gave some key points to remember when potty training boys is:

At times it take boys longer to potty train.
Regression its normal in any child just keep positive reinforcement
When potty training your child pressure will make thing much more difficult, at times waiting a couple of month makes a huge difference.

We also got Dr. Cotton help answering some question about potty training. Dr. Cotton is a Miami base pediatrician for 17 years and has three children of his own. Dr. Cotton dedicated his career in providing Hispanic mother with the tool and information about heath care.His key point about potty training are

Potty training a boy sitting down or standing up will all depends on the family and no way is wrong way.
Potty training should begin when the child is mature enough.
Scheduled potty brakes through out the day to remind the child to go to the potty.
Patience is key in potty training and positive reinforcement.

The app is available for android and itunes and its called Big Kids app at pull-ups. The app has Disney characters which I know my child loves! He is in that stage where he love cars. Pull-ups has help me keep at it with potty training and made it fun for my son.

Celebrating first flush movement with Pull-Ups

I don’t know how many mom’s are in the same boat as me right now but I have begun the potty training process. I know that at first I was clue less on how to begin.

The first thing I did was ask my mom and my mother in-law how they started the potty training process with us as children and it all seemed at first easy enough. However, it really is not. It takes a lot of patients and looking for clues on how your child communicated with you that they are ready to potty train. I tried to start potty training at 2 years old but he was too young and had a hard time grasping the concept but now that his a couple month older he seems to be understanding and communicating better with me.
I know at time you can feel pressure to potty train your child because everyone else is doing it but you need to do it when you child understands what potty is and always celebrate every flush. I know I clap my hands and at time even give him a cookie for his good work. Like every child he loves to flush the toilet.
If you find that your child like mine at times does not use the potty every time, I still encourage every try. I know that they are days that are better than others and their will be messes but I try to be positive and encourage every achievement. My mother has told me many times when I start think about giving up for awhile that I am setting him back from all his progress. I have to keep reinforcing and being consistent with potty training. I found that if I let up one day then I am right back where I started.

So we all need a little help right so I am now I am participating in the Pull-Ups Every Flush or Madrina del Bano campaign. They have done a super cute YouTube video or this campaign at Time Square! Ooh, how it makes me miss NYC so much when I see Time Square. You have to see it they have a huge toilet in the middle of Time Square!

Book Origami Folding Tutorial

Imagine that its Wednesday again and that means that its another Origami book folding tutorial! I hope you are ready! I love doing my origami book folding late at night while watching TV or on the phone. I always try to keep my hands busy. So if you are like me and want to keep your hands busy late at night give it a try.

You will need to take the first four pages and fold them from the top down to make a triangle.

Make sure all four pages are folded the same way.

The next four pages will be folded differently. The bottom page will be folded higher than the top. The triangle will be higher on the page. Fold four pages the same way.

The next fold is super easy. You will fold up from the bottom of the up. Again fold four pages.

The next four pages will be folded into a triangle in the center of the book.

Now fold four pages the same way you did at the beginning of the book.

Fold the top of next four pages down more than half way and fold the bottom of the page into a smaller triangle.

Continue to alternate the fold of the pages in the same sequence until you reach the end of the book. The book I use only had 200 pages so it did not take that long to make this art folding book.

Hansel and Gretel a Fairy Tale for Adults

Guess what I did last night?! I went to see Hansel and Gretel at the midnight showing. I know, I am getting pretty old to be going to late night showing but I could not help myself. I promise not to give any spoilers.

You might not know this about me but I love fairy tales, especially dark fairy tales the way they were once told to little children who misbehaved. They were told as warning to children in dark time to keep them safe of the dark arts roaming the world. Now because of Disney which I do love, everything is flowers and butterflies. Having little princess that need the help of prince charming to come and rescue them. Instead of helping themselves. Maybe I should stop the rambling, haha.

The reason I was interested in watching in Hansel and Gretel was because the female character seem to be strong and could hold her own. I took a chance and went. I am now completely in love with the movie. Most of the main characters in the movie were strong female roles who could take the beating and give one back just as well. Gretel did not scream for her brother anytime things got hard. She had brains, beauty and power with every punch. Now, I am not a movie critic but I admire a strong female role who shows that she does not need her prince to come fight the big bad dragon for her.

I will tell you this, the movie is not for small children due to the nature of a lot of blood and of tearing people apart. However, if you are going on a date night with your hubby it is an excellent movie.

I hope they make another Hasel and Gretel in the future because fairy tales is what keeps dream alive.

Also the movie theater I went to had the Hansel and Gretel actual costume on display. Sorry the pictures are not so great but I only had my phone with me.

Can you believe that I spent most of my time at the Ranger booth! I just love Tim Holtz products and tutorials. I just love it all. The design to his booth was vintage and just eye catching. Everywhere you look their was something unique and interesting to look at.
