Decorating the outside of my door is always my main priority, I always feel like everyone needs to know that I love Halloween and that the outside represents how my inside of my home looks like full of creepy decor. Since my favorite movie it Hocus Pocus I focus on the eyeball book of spells and decided to make a Halloween doorbell with eyeballs. I went in search for a realistic looking eyeball. I looked at my local craft store and I only found plastic cheap looking eyeball or foam eyeballs. Finally I went in search online and long and behold I found some on ebay! I purchased them from an actual prop maker and they look so real.
The first thing I did was get my frame and cut cardboard to fit behind the frame. I followed by cutting a small hole in the middle of the cardboard so my eyeball will fit snugly in the middle of it.
I then used my red velvet and cut the center of it as well to the eyeball will go through it. I also added some batting between the red velvet and cardboard.
I went ahead and hot glued the red velvet fabric to the back of the cardboard and then hot glued everything to the frame.
Ta-da! All done you know have a Halloween doorbell. I used command strips to hang it on the outside of the door so I did not have to leave any holes. However, due to my hallway being so dark I decided to take the final pictures on my wall. But when a guest press my eyeball to ring my door they always seem a little creep out.
Happy Haunting,
Loren
