Every year I see everyone decorating their mantle in their home. However, I live in apartment my entire life and I have only once had one with a fireplace, mostly because we have always lived in very warm states. I decided this year to make hanging faux fireplace for myself kinda, hehe. I had a birch wood in the closet waiting around for me do something with it for about a year. I finally found a new way to bring life to it this Christmas.

I decided to use white yarn to hold up the birch wood stocking holder. I tied each end to my shutters or you can use an empty wall.

I then used white yarn to also tie the stockings to the wood. Its that simple and fast to do.

I wanted to cover up the sections to were I tied the birch to the shutters. I used two of my wooden deer stencils I made last year. Click here to see the full tutorial.
