Halloween Tag day 7 of 31 days

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I was super busy with errands and with a little bundle of joy on its her way next month, it seems like I am getting busier. Today I have a tag with poison bottles and skulls. I enjoyed playing around with the new Tim Holtz stamps and of course using the skull stamp. The skull stamp is my favorite one.

The poison bottle tag I wanted to give the feel of being careful of medication they might not be what they seem.  I used mostly Ranger product and I just enjoyed making this tag.

Halloween Tag

It was a busy Sunday for me and getting use to posting everyday can be a little difficult. However I do have my tag. I decided to do a mini spider Halloween tag in a frame. I wanted something that I can use my many mini frames I have gotten at Michael’s and to display on my counter. I don’t know why I have not done more of them. It seems if it does not have glitter it looks boring, hehe.
I used Tim Holtz products with a Martha Stewart punch. I enjoyed using my mini frames and I used the Boo to hide the spider behind. I was hoping to make it seem like a little window to peek into.
Happy Haunting,

Loren

Day 4 of 31 days of Halloween Tags

Its day four of 31 days of Halloween tags and I decided to do a little bit of Dias de los Muertos tag today. Its weird but I can’t stop using my glitter! I might need help, hehe. I hope you are all enjoying the hop. Thank you everyone for the lovely comments and encouragement.

I do love my purple glitter. I don’t know about you  but at times I feel like the tag is not finished and that is how I am feeling about this one. I might go back and change a few things. However, I hope you all still like it.

Happy Haunting,

Book Folding Origami & Halloween Tag #2

Its has been a while since I have posted a book folding tutorial. I have been trying to figure out more interesting book folding techniques. So I took to the internet and I found someone who actually had a technique and has made a PDF file which you can purchase. I learned how to make words with the pages! Want to see what I did?

Can you tell what it says? I did not say I have master it yet. I am going to try to give it one more try and see if my second attempt is better.  I think I did not use enough pages to spell Halloween.

If you want to see the tutorial I tried click here. It super easy to read.
Now for the fun!  I have Halloween tag #2 for 31 days of Halloween. I decided to use owls for this tag and bling.

I love using frames for my tags. I am not a big fan of glitter but I think this add that extra something especially when it purple, hehe.

Happy Haunting’s!

Halloween Inspired Hocus Pocus Eyeball Spell book Tutorial

Its Halloween and who does not like a good spell book that can look into your soul and tell you your darkest secrets! My leather bound eye book was the inspiration of the Hocus Pocus book of spells. I love its leathery look with its one eye watching the holder of its evil spells.

If you remember my other shadow box Halloween book of skeleton fairy its pretty much almost the same way to make. Click here see the tutorial. The only difference is that you won’t need to paint it black or add the skeleton to it. Instead you use and eye which I found a bag for 99 cent at Michael’s.

Once you have glued on the Kraft paper to the shadow box book leave extra patch of paper in the center of the book to cut it open and add your eyeball. I cut the eyeball in half so it does not pop out to far.

Once its dry you will need to distress it with gathered twigs.

Use a blending tool color the entire spell book.

Someone is staring at you!

Now that you had a blast distressing, its time to seal the ink. I really wanted the kraft paper to look leathery and using Claudine Hellmuth Studio multi-medium matte it gave that effect. I covered the book with the medium and let it dry.

You can applied it with a brush a little at time.

The inside of the book I wanted to store my 2012 Halloween tags. I covered the inside of the shadow box with scrapbook like my previous book. I added a I. D wire retractable to hang the tags on the inside of the shadow book. I crazy glued one end in the inside of the book and other other end to the inside of the cover.

Now you are able to hang you tags and it will retract once you close the book.

My tags now have home in my spell book!
Stay crafty everyone!

Halloween Pumpkins bling out tutorial

It can’t be Halloween for without pumpkins! I love decorating pumpkins during Halloween and this year is not any different. I love carving real pumpkins but decorating fake pumpkins is much more fun without all the mess.  The possibilities are endless when decorating your pumpkins. I decided to bling out my pumpkins this year.

Another wonderful craft that I got to do at creative tea time was a to bling out a white pumpkin. I loved it and if you know me, I am not a bling kind of person but it works on this pumpkin. I just wanted to run home and bling up all my Halloween pumpkins. Guess what thats just what I did.

I used want 2 scrap black pearls glue dots which I attached to the white pumpkin. Which I then colored a butterfly black with acrylic paint.

After the butterfly was dry I attached rhinestone to the wings. The rhimestones were also from want 2 scrap!
