Chalk Paint Banker’s Chair

One of the things on my wish list of thrifty finds was a banker’s chair or what I like to think of a librarian chair. I remember seeing them in movies and just love the style of it. When they say that you never know what you will find at a goodwill its very true! I got the opportunity to go and find a banker’s chair for only $10! I grabbed it and did not let it out of my sight because it was a steal. I have gone to flea markets and they want to charge you $45 for one. I was very happy to get my hands on one. I though giving it a maker over would be just what it needs making this chalk paint banker’s chair.

The wonderful thing about using chalk paint is that I did not have to mess with my sander. Using chalk paint is great because it very difficult to sand around my kiddos and its way faster to finish a piece by just using chalk paint. To see my home made chalk paint recipe just click here.
chalkpaintabankerschair.jpgI went ahead and used black flat paint on the banker’s chair. I usually get the sample paint from Home Depot because it usually enough for most projects and it allows for about two to three paint coats.

After the paint dried I took a damp cloth and rubbing on the edges of the banker’s chair to remove the chalk paint. I removed the paint in the areas it would get the most wear when being used.

Once I was done I seal the chalk paint so it would not rub off with wear.
