Vintage Camera Diorama

I just love giving new life to old vintage thing that people might think of throwing out or find little value to. I purchased vintage camera from ebay that are broken, I do not like taking something apart if its still works so I make sure they are broken first. I took the mechanical part out of the vintage brownie box camera. Its very simple to do since it all comes out like a box. I had removed the inside of the brownie box camera a while back so I don’t have a pictures.

The next step is to make my wonderland miniature diorama. I used white trees, deer, tag, glitter, hot glue and fake snow. Of course I also used Tim Holtz mini lamp to light up the inside of the vintage camera diorama.

I made a small hole on the top of the vintage camera attached the mini lamp.

I then began on my miniature diorama. I glittered up the tag and cut it to fit the inside of the camera. I used hot glue to attach the trees to the tag, and the deer.

Followed by hot gluing the fake snow on top of everything. It looks like a winter wonderland inside the vintage camera diorama.

Something still seem to be missing. I decided to add scrapbook paper to the back of the camera.

Now when you look through the front lenses of the camera you can see the little vintage camera diorama of lit up!

I also have tag #5 ready for view! I used clippings from my Christmas tree and sealed them so they can last longer.

Mason Jar Easter Crafts

Easter is around the corner and if you need a last minute craft for your little one then I have what you want. I made a Mason Jar Easter Crafts with a few things I got from Target dollar bin. Of course every time I stop by Target I shop the dollar bin and their clearance section and I always find something I had my eye on that just happened to be on clearance. I do believe we are all a little guilty of that, right?

You will need a mason jar, spray paint and hot glue gun.

The first thing you will need to do is spray paint he lid of the Mason jar Easter Crafts. Then you want to gather all the Target goodies from the dollar bin.

You will need to spray paint the wooden bunnies as well with white spray paint.

I then went a head and hot glued the ears and tale. I removed the clips from the hears to be able to hot glued them on.

Its a fun little project to do with the kiddos and so cute to have on your counters. I love working with mason jars and I try to use them as much as I can in any craft project. If you have a few mason jars just laying around then go a head and give it a try!

Mason Jar Christmas Snow Globles

It would not be Christmas with some Mason jar decor. Here are my mason Jar Christmas snow globes. I love mason jars and I have a lot of them hidden under my bed. I being seen a lot of people using them with cute little vintage cars and placing tiny Christmas trees on top with bakers twine. I was not able to find any vintage toy cars. They seem to be very popular and prices for them seem to be ridicules. So I went in search for this cars in toy store. I could not find one anywhere. I thought I had tried everything until I went grocery shopping at Ralph and guess what I found?! The perfect car toys. They are a little large but they fit perfectly inside the mason jars! You always find things in the most unexpected places.

As I mentioned before I got these cute looking vintage cars from my local grocery store called Ralph’s.

I went a head and tied bakers twine to the cars. It was pretty simple to do specially since the cars doors opened.

I got the mini Christmas tress from my local craft store. I got a couple different one’s to see which one’s match best with my cars.

Here they are!!

I also got this cute little camper with a tree on top from target ornament section and of course I had to place it inside a mason jar as well!!

My home is going to be filled with mason jar Christmas snow globes.

Stencil Reindeer

I will say it again I just love reindeer decor. I can’t wait to go full on Christmas home decor! My hubby seems to be excited about me decorating for the holiday season. I decided to start a little early this year and do a stencil reindeer which I found at Michael’s ! Just love it and I need to make it pop and I remembered that I had this awesome wooden stencil from Plaid Mod Podge. It would add that extra wood feel to the wooden reindeer.

I first wanted to age the wood a little bit and I stained it.

I went ahead and placed the stencil on the wooden reindeer and went over it with red acrylic paint.

Once it was all dried I sealed it.

I still found that the my little reindeer needed something else to make it stand out . I went back to michael’s and I got some leaves and berries to add some dimensional touch to it.

I also did add a burlap bow to the top of the head for the wooden reindeer.

I did two different stenciled reindeer and I just so excited how they came out! I kind of feel like going back and buys a few more! I just wish I can give them out as gifts but I don’t know anyone who would enjoy them as much as me as you guys maybe. Who knows I might just do a giveaway on my instagram. Christmas Mason Jar Nutcracker

Its that time again of the year where you have to take out the Christmas tree and unpack all the ornaments well at least in my house. Now that I really think about it we have never had a real Christmas tree. Living in apartments it has always made sense to have a fake tree, even if my hubby does have bring it up from the garage. I enjoy decorating for Christmas and this year is not any different.

I’ve been in the look out for Christmas decoration and inspiration when I go to the stores. I am always very surprised how early they start putting up all the decorations. Its was not even close to Halloween and everything was on sale and a few Christmas stuff were on the shelf. So I decided to start my Christmas crafts early.

I began with a Christmas Mason Jar Nutcracker. I found the nutcracker at Michale’s once known as the $1 bins and got a few of the nutcrackers.

I then took a mason jar and spray pained the lid gold and hot glued the nutcracker to the lid.

I added fake snow to the inside of the jar. You cant have Christmas with out a little snow. Especially since I live in Cali and it not a place where snow is very common at least not where I live.

I have another Christmas Mason Jar ready for the holidays. I may actually have a good collection this year.

Reindeer Embroidery Pattern

It can’t be Christmas with out a few key things, Christmas tree, lights and reindeer! I just enjoy decorating with reindeer. I really want to add them to my decor this year for the holidays. I see reindeer at target in every form. I’ve purchased a snow globe of a reindeer in October. I do believe I can have that globe out all year around on my nightstand. They even had a reindeer head with gold tip antlers but I did not get it which I am regretting a little bit. However, I did find a fun an easy way to add reindeer to my Christmas tree with this little hoop ornament. You can also place them on your wall in all sizes!

I first went and got my wooden hoop which I got at my local craft store and placed some felt in the hoop. I then got my silhouette and purchased a a baby reindeer pattern which I cut the head off. I made a couple of different sizes to fit my hoop.

I then used glossy accents glue and traced the patterned with it. The glue stays wet for a little bit you have some wiggle room to work the entire pattern before you have to sprinkle the glitter. I used a dark brown glitter for the reindeer.

I then got myself some red embroidery thread to add the red nose.

You are almost done! I decided to painted the wooden hoop with a red sharpie. You can also stain the hoop. Now you can either hang them on the Christmas tree or on your wall. You have now a beautiful reindeer embroidery pattern than you can use glitter if you can’t really embroider.

Recycling Formula Container

I recently had to stop breast feeding and use formula and I found myself having formula containers. I just could not find myself throwing them out without feeling a little guilty and I wanted to recycle them. I guess that is what happens when you are a crafter! I really need to figure out something to do with the extra containers. The first thing that pop into my head was a cookie container. Of course since its Halloween I decided to add something spooky to it.

The first thing I did was grab the containers and went to work on spraying them with black chalk board paint. One of the containers had a gold top and I decided to also paint the other lid gold since it was yellow.

Once it was dried I went ahead and mod podge a skull and bones to one container. I also liked how the gold lid came out. Gold is a wonderful color this season.

The other container I mod podge a spider to it.The spiders I used are Martha Stewart cling. I love how has transparent. My new containers might keep the kiddos from knowing I hidden their cookies in there! The lid was already gold so it was one less thing to do. haha

I have two formula containers that have gotten a complete makeover/recycled. I wonder what I am going to do with the next few formula containers? It is fun to find new uses to every day items you use.

No Sew Fabric Pumpkins

Fabric pumpkins are a must have for all seasons. I believe once they might have been good for just Halloween or Thanksgiving but I now you can see them for Christmas as well. I just think they help you get in the holiday spirit. I decided to make holiday pumpkins this year for all occasions. I have pumpkins in all sizes, shapes and different materials. I always get the real pumpkins which we carve and then I get fake pumpkins at my local craft store and get very creative with them. All I have left was to make no sew fabric pumpkins.

The no sew fabric pumpkins I decided to make was super easy and fast to make. I really don’t always have a lot of time to take out the sewing machine and do them that way. I decided to do it a different way in which I could do it while the kiddos where eating lunch. Fast and easy is the name of the game at time when you are a busy mom.

I first cut the fabric in a square . Followed by tying both end of the fabric. The closer to the center you tie the fabric the smaller the pumpkin. The closer to the edge of the fabric you tie the fabric the longer the pumpkin.

Then just turn the fabric inside out.

Then you will be able to stuff the pumpkin with batting.

Once you have it as big as you want it you can hot glue the seam together.

You can grab an embroidery needle with thread or twine and go all the way through the middle of the pumpkin from the bottom. You will circle around the pumpkin around six times to make it look more pumpkin like and pull tight.

Now you have a no sew fabric pumpkins!

Halloween Mason Jar Ghost

Ghost are one of the frightful things during Halloween. I decided to make my own tortured soul ghost and place him in my mason jar for safe keeping. I used little things around the house. I sometimes get very surprise what you can come up with when you are in need of it. I love making Halloween mason jar every year. I always want to top the year before mason jar.

I have wooden skewer and for the life of me I could not find them anywhere. I own two different size skewers and I could not find one of them in my craft closet. Some might say maybe I have too many crafts but I just think maybe I just need to reorganize it. hehe. I had a dilema of what to use to get my littl ghost head stand up. I then saw my son juice box straw and light bulb went off. I used the straw and attached it to a small foam ball. The foam ball I found seemed to have gotten a little bit beat up. I believe at one time my son might have gotten his hand on it at one time or other.

I hot glued the straw to the lid. I used cheese cloth to cover the foam ball. I made eyes and a mouth with a black sharpy.

I added a tea light to add a glow to my little Halloween mason jar ghost. It fits perfectly with my Halloween decor.

Disneyland Villain Mystic Tent

It would not be Halloween at Disneyland without having the villains taking a stroll from their usual hiding places. I am so excited to be able to attend this year to Disneyland during the Halloween season. I enjoy seeing all the decor they have and all the characters in costumes. The most exciting thing for me is being able to go into the mystic tent and being able to conjure up a villain and get a picture with them. You are in luck, for your viewing pleasure I have a video of our first conjure.

If you have never been during Halloween then you should really try to make it. I hoping to get all the villains before Halloween. I can just imagine it get more busy as Halloween approaches and would not want to get on the very long line to see a villain.
