Stocking holders Tutorial
Just in time for the holiday season, I have made stocking holders. The stocking holder was inspired by U-Create.com.
I decided to make a stocking holder because this holiday season is the first time I have a fireplace in my apartment. I am so excited because I got to decorate it. I usually had to hang my stocking from the wall but not this year!
The material you will need are as followed.
1. Stocking holder weight (Walmart $6 for two)
2. Wooden Letter
3. Acrylic Paint in the color desired
4. Modge Podge
5. Brushes
6. Wooden Block (Michaels for .79 cents)
7. Scrapbook paper
8. Ribbon
9. Tape
10.Mini bows (.97 cents at Walmart)
11. Gorrilla Glue
12. Xacto knife
After they have been cut out you use the Modge Podge to glue the letters to the scrapbook paper.
Once the Modge Podge has dried use the xacto knife to cut around the edges of the wood. This particular wooden letter has a border to where I could cut out the scrapbook paper. Now it looks like it has a shadow.
Now you are able to color the letter with acrylic paint. I used green for this particular letter. I have our first name initial for my little family. I wish I could have spray painted the letter and then attached the scrapbook paper but its too cold outside to be able to spray paint.
Now to making the little wooden presents. We all deserve presents! As you let the letters dry, you could begin cutting the scrapbook paper for the wooden presents.
The picture is little dark that is because I was doing my craft projects under the light of my christmas tree. It seemed right to do my christmas craft next to my tree.
The blocks that I purchased are 2x2 and I cut out the six squares out of scrapbook paper. I again used Modge Podge to glue it to the wooden blocks. I have so much Modge Podge I just use it for almost everything. Usually you could use very small amount to attach the paper to the wooden blocks.
When the blocks have dried you can add the ribbon and bows to the presents. They look so cute and tiny under my Christmas tree.
As you can see they make a cute little addition to the stocking holder. I glued everything together with gorilla glue.
I hope you all enjoyed my tutorial and I hope you are having a good holiday season!

Picture Perfect Saturday
Today was a day of running around finishing errands. And in my outing I found a piece of my past.
I use to play this game as a child in Puerto Rico. Little thing like this make my day better. I can't wait to teach my hubby how to play. Now if I could remember how to play...hehe
I also received my giveaway from The Sasse Life blog. I just love it! It looks create on my decorated Thanksgiving dinning room table.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Last minute wooden board sign tutorial!
Materials:
1. Gorilla Glue
2. wood plaque (hobby lobby)
3.Idea-ology Hinge Clips
4. Hooks (Hobby lobby)
5. Stainer (Red Mahogany)
6.Brush
7. Spray paint (Red & White)
8. Frame hooks
| I just love the Red Mahogany and the dark color it brings. |
| As you can see I had to brush some of it off to make sure it did not get to dark. I did three coats on each of the plaques. |
Then I spray painted three hinge clips & hooks, two in red and one in white. When they dried I super glued the hinge clips and used Gorilla Glue on the hook.
