How to make a stencil with cameo silhouette on a wood sign

When I was browsing Joann's I found these cute wooden hearts that I just needed to have. The problem was that I bought about 4 of these hearts and no plan. I promised myself this year that I would only buy something that I was going to use right away. So far I have not been doing to well with that little goal and I decided to start working on it a little harder.
I decided to make a cute little wooden heart sign with my cameo silhouette. I wanted the sign to show little age and not be perfect. I like adding a little rustic charm to my walls.

Book Folding Origami Pyramid Fold

Book folding Origami can be very consuming at times and this one was one of them. I spend about two weeks doing this book folding. At times I start with a larger book with 700 pages because it look more pretty when the pages are condensed together but this time 400 pages was just enough. It still took for ever but it was worth it.

How to make hot air balloons with coffee filters

My task this week was to make something different from my solar system from FloraCraft Make: It Fun.  It was not easy let me tell you because I really wanted to make the solar system and my son loved playing with the foam balls but boys get easily entertained with anything that can be thrown. hehe.
I decided to make cute little hot air balloons with the FloraCraft Make: If Fun foam.

Making your own Book Lamp

I fell love with a beautiful book lamp I saw on pinterest but their was no tutorial for it. So I decided to jump into making my very own. Especialy now that I need more light in our home. I could always use a lamp in every room. If you have a couple of old book you don't mind drilling into and lamp kit you can make one too.

How to cover a picture frame with fabric and mod podge

I like adding to cute little family touches to my home decor and this time I made a cute little picture frame with my little princess foot print. The cut it out frames perfect picture frames because I don't have to go around looking for something to fit my decor when I can just paint it any color I want. How to seal wood

I little while back I did a cute little video on how to seal wood. If you have wood decor in your home its always a good idea to seal it because I know that in my home due to the weather it goes from hot to cold from one day to the next. The wood will dry out and crack and we don't want that, right?
Now don't make to much fun of my video, it has been a while since I've done a video and its not really good but it will shows you what I do to seal my wood decor in my home!

Let me know what you think!

Silhouette State Wood Art

My hubby and I have move around a lot while we have been together and as children but I have found that their are only two places we really have called home. So I decided to place the silhouettes of the two states on a piece of wood. I love adding touches on wood in our home and this project really added a piece of the outdoor in the home.

Entryway Shoe Storage Solution

I don't know about you but I hate having everyone's shoes all over my entryway. I have a tiny entryway and it seems like everyone always has more than one pair of shoes just laying around. It always seems like I am tripping over shoes during the day. So I came up with a simple and out of way storage idea. I really needed to find something that would not take a lot of space and could take a lot of shoes.

Chalk Painting Trunks and Furniture

I have gotten two trunks at the flea market a while back and I had not decided what color to paint them. I am always changing the decor on my house depending on my mood and I did not want to paint them just any color, so I decided on white. White never goes out of style and it goes with any accent color I might be in the mood that year or season.

One of my trucks was purple and the other navy blue. I had previously paint one of the trunks with interior paint but it just flaked off with time. I decided to try chalk paint this time around to see if it would stay. Guess what?! It did, no flaking once it was sealed.

Wooden Rustic Serving Tray

Every year I change my home decor right after the holidays. I really want to focus on minimal with a touch of rustic. My hubby and I love the outdoor brought inside. If we had our dream home we would have a large backyard full of trees. However, we live in a two bedroom apartment with a small balcony, the good thing is I always make it work. I started with taking a wood slice or slap and making a serving tray.

Star Wars R2D2 Jewelry Tutorial

I've had this beauty for a while and wanted to share it with you all. I made a R2D2 Star Wars ring. I know that we are all geeks at heart or we know someone who is a geek and they would all love a geek ring like this one. All it takes it some basic supplies and a little painting talent to make that geeky person happy.
