Thanksgiving table setting

The holiday of giving thanks is just around the corner. The truth of the manner is that the end of the year always seems to be the most stressful and busiest for me between holidays and birthdays I just can’t seem to be able to slow down. However, it never stops me from making a few new crafts for every holiday. After Halloween passed I just could not seem to have the heart to put my white pumpkins away. I usually don’t decorate much for Thanksgiving but this year I decided to use the white pumpkins and make it a little bit more festive. You can’t have enough ideas for Thanksgiving table setting, right?! ‘The good thing is that you can always find white pumpkins on sale at your local craft store for just a couple of dollars (wink, wink).

Of course antlers is still the thing to have for decor and I had a few so decided to use them with my white pumpkin. I cut out a hole on the side of the pumpkin and put them through.

Then I took my dried up flowers that I had received and hot glued them to the white pumpkin around the antlers. The pumpkin now looks like it has a cute little flower head dress.

I went to my local super market and got real small white pumpkins and added them to around the larger pumpkin. Easy and fast Thanksgiving table setting center piece is made for the holidays.

I had a larger antler which I placed around the other pumpkins to make the decor complete.

BISSELL Scotchgard Protector solution this Holiday prep

During the holiday prep we all know that family are coming over to make wonderful memories in our homes however, I know I start going crazy trying to clean. My hubby hates it when I get crazy about holiday cleaning. I want every corner vacuumed and cleaned.  Of course I have two little kiddos that love staining my carpet. I think at times its their part time job to do so, hehe. We all know that carpet stains and kiddos come hand in hand I really did not want my in-laws to see my carpet when they came this holiday season.

Bissell_clean

The good thing is that BISSELL Scotchgard™ Protector Formulas came to my rescue. Vacuuming alone isn’t enough. That’s where deep cleaning with Scotchgard™ Protector comes in. Scotchgard Protector works by placing a barrier on the surface of fibers to protect against future stains.  Even if your carpets weren’t treated from the start, you can help build in some protection using BISSELL deep cleaning formulas with Scotchgard Protector.

BISSELL upright carpet cleaning formulas that include Scotchgard Protector have the substance formulated in, so as you clean your carpet you can also protect it from becoming stained in the future. This stain-protecting substance pushes liquids away from the base of carpet fibers. This means that when you have a spill, the liquid will stay at the surface longer so you have time to clean it up before the carpet is seriously damaged.

Plastic Bin Makeover

We did it again. Couple of my blogger friends and I got together and decided to make a challenge to each other with target’s dollar bin. On this challenge we decided to use $1 plastic bin makeover. At first I did not have any clue what I was planning to do with this bin. I did not have anything that I need to organize or needed to use for so what to do?  Then when I was outside watering my succulent it came to me! Why not use it as a planter for my many succulents. However, just having a white bin was not going to do it. I always need to do something extra.

I had two vision for the bins and I did not know which one I was going to like most so I decide to to both and see which one looks best at the end. The good thing is that I got two white bin for $1!

The first bin I used black chalkboard paint and I sprayed it. I also did a couple of hole on the bottom to make sure the water will drain if I over water it.

Antler Decoration Ideas

I had a great pleasure of reviewing wonderful antlers from Black Forest Décor! I just loved browsing through their site; they have everything you will need to decorate your home all rustic. I especially love their holiday décor and how it can be transform to be used all year long. I got a antler center piece and it’s so lovely and it has beautiful detail. I came up with antler decorating ideas.

The antlers are very festive and have cute leaves, moss and cherries on them. I love looking at the detail of each antler is beautiful. I just could not wait to get it out of the box and on its place on top of my white chest.
While browsing Black Forest Décor you can get anything for lighting with faux antlers to bedding! They have a great selection for everyone’s taste and I can’t wait to get my hands on a couple of other things. I also like that they have a selection of faux and real antlers.  I especially liked the beautiful coffee table made into a sledded. You can’t find better antler decoration ideas than in Black Forest website.
Since it’s not the festive holiday season, I decided to added a little spring to my antlers. I used silk flowers and place them the center. Now I have flowery center piece for the spring and a beautiful festive center piece for the winter.
What will you pick from Black Forest Décor? Will you transform your bathroom into a wood cottage or maybe your bedroom? The possibilities are endless and the décor is unique.

How to make a stencil with cameo silhouette on a wood sign

When I was browsing Joann’s I found these cute wooden hearts that I just needed to have. The problem was that I bought about 4 of these hearts and no plan. I promised myself this year that I would only buy something that I was going to use right away. So far I have not been doing to well with that little goal and I decided to start working on it a little harder.
I decided to make a cute little wooden heart sign with my cameo silhouette. I wanted the sign to show little age and not be perfect. I like adding a little rustic charm to my walls.

The project won’t take that long and I like the look on my wall. The first thing I did to the wooden heart was stain it. I used a dark mahogany stain.

The wood picked up the stain fast and I wiped off some of it.

I then went to work on my cameo silhouette. I purchased the love you forever lettering from the silhouette store.

I then attached the vinyl lettering to the wood heart and then used acrylic paint over it.

Then you take off the vinyl lettering once the paint is slightly dry and now you have a nice rustic heart wood sign. Some of the paint went behind the lettering and looks like a mistake which I really like. Not everything beautiful has to be perfect.

How to cover a picture frame with fabric and mod podge

I like adding to cute little family touches to my home decor and this time I made a cute little picture frame with my little princess foot print. The cut it out frames perfect picture frames because I don’t have to go around looking for something to fit my decor when I can just paint it any color I want. I decided to cover it with fabric and painting it.

The first thing I did was grab my material. I picked a cute sparkle gold fabric for my little princess.

Then I cut a piece of fabric and applied mod podge on the frame and placed the fabric.

I cut any extra fabric off and glue to the edges. I used black acrylic paint on the edges to cover the fabric

I added a flower with leaves for that extra touch, now I have a cute little fabric covered frame with my little girls foot print.

Entryway Shoe Storage Solution

I don’t know about you but I hate having everyone’s shoes all over my entryway. I have a tiny entryway and it seems like everyone always has more than one pair of shoes just laying around. It always seems like I am tripping over shoes during the day. So I came up with a simple and out of way storage idea. I really needed to find something that would not take a lot of space and could take a lot of shoes.

I got the idea of using crates on a small corner of my entryway. They did not take a lot of space and can hold all of our shoes.

I went to Joann’s and I got two crates. I need to add some shelving to the crates so the shoes are just not thrown in and a mess like they are all over my entryway at the moment. I got some craft wood and cut it to the dimension of the inside of the crate. I also cut or I should say my hubby  cut small pieces to go on the side to support the shelve.

I used small screws to the side of the crate with the thin wood to hold up the shelf.
I did both crates. Its super fast and easy to do.

Now the fun begins. I stained both crates with a dark stain.
After the stain has dried I made chalk paint mixture of white paint and plaster both equal parts.

I applied the chalk paint on top of the stained wooden crates.

I think it makes the look worn down and antiqued. I used American paint company sealer to seal the crates. I don’t want the paint coming off when everyone take and put in the shoes in the crates.

Then you are all done. Now I have a nice storage solution to store all of my families shoes.
