Spring is in the air and going to your favorite nursery might be one of your favorite spots to go which is definitely what I like to do. I try really hard to control my urge to buy to0 many plants at one time which is extremely hard to do! I have a wish list of succulents I would love to own and it seems to be getting bigger and bigger with each day. Flipping through Instagram make my wish list get longer due to the beautiful succulents everyone owns and I also started to explore getting more house plants. The hubby wants to have more greenery in the house and I am not going to say no and that’s how mason jar succulent planter came to be.
I won’t lie to you, once upon a time not too long ago…(sounds like star wars, haha. Sorry I geeked out for a minute there) I use to kill plants by just looking at them. However, for the past two year I have been able to keep succulents alive. As I was told and have experienced they are the easiest plants to keep alive. Now I am exploring how to place them in cute little thing like Mason jars. I love Mason jars and if I find something to put in them I will! I had this old Mason jars lemonade dispenser which the nozzle could never get clean enough to use again. When I wanted to throw it out the hubby could not bring himself to do it and I finally decided to do something with it. After a week it finally came to me what I could do with it and I turned it into Mason jar succulent planter.
The beautiful succulent string of pearls which can be very fragile and needs to be handle with care at times was the plant I choose to place inside my Mason jar succulent planter. I have had the string of pearls for two months and tried to keep it shaded area so it would not burn. It was watered once a week. It survived and now it needs a new home! ( insert happy dance!)
First I collected a few things. I got some succulent soil. Succulents like well drain soil to avoid their roots from rotting.
Wood chips for the bottom of the pot will help with drainage. The Mason jar succulent planter is very big and I just did not want to make it super heavy or add too much soil the succulent will probably not use. Specially since I have so many new babies coming in the near future. Woohoo! I love spring!!
I filled the bottom with wood chips to allow the succulent drain well.
Followed with adding cactus and succulent soil to the top.
Then I place my string of pearl succulent on the top.
Finally just add my string of pearls and made sure all the roots are covered by soil, followed my watering. All done with my Mason jar succulent planter, fast and simple!
Happy planting !
The holiday of giving thanks is just around the corner. The truth of the manner is that the end of the year always seems to be the most stressful and busiest for me between holidays and birthdays I just can’t seem to be able to slow down. However, it never stops me from making a few new crafts for every holiday. After Halloween passed I just could not seem to have the heart to put my white pumpkins away. I usually don’t decorate much for Thanksgiving but this year I decided to use the white pumpkins and make it a little bit more festive. You can’t have enough ideas for Thanksgiving table setting, right?! ‘The good thing is that you can always find white pumpkins on sale at your local craft store for just a couple of dollars (wink, wink).
Of course antlers is still the thing to have for decor and I had a few so decided to use them with my white pumpkin. I cut out a hole on the side of the pumpkin and put them through.
Then I took my dried up flowers that I had received and hot glued them to the white pumpkin around the antlers. The pumpkin now looks like it has a cute little flower head dress.
I went to my local super market and got real small white pumpkins and added them to around the larger pumpkin. Easy and fast Thanksgiving table setting center piece is made for the holidays.
I had a larger antler which I placed around the other pumpkins to make the decor complete.
Happy Holiday’s !!
During the holiday prep we all know that family are coming over to make wonderful memories in our homes however, I know I start going crazy trying to clean. My hubby hates it when I get crazy about holiday cleaning. I want every corner vacuumed and cleaned. Of course I have two little kiddos that love staining my carpet. I think at times its their part time job to do so, hehe. We all know that carpet stains and kiddos come hand in hand I really did not want my in-laws to see my carpet when they came this holiday season.
The good thing is that BISSELL Scotchgard™ Protector Formulas came to my rescue. Vacuuming alone isn’t enough. That’s where deep cleaning with Scotchgard™ Protector comes in. Scotchgard Protector works by placing a barrier on the surface of fibers to protect against future stains. Even if your carpets weren’t treated from the start, you can help build in some protection using BISSELL deep cleaning formulas with Scotchgard Protector.
BISSELL upright carpet cleaning formulas that include Scotchgard Protector have the substance formulated in, so as you clean your carpet you can also protect it from becoming stained in the future. This stain-protecting substance pushes liquids away from the base of carpet fibers. This means that when you have a spill, the liquid will stay at the surface longer so you have time to clean it up before the carpet is seriously damaged.

We did it again. Couple of my blogger friends and I got together and decided to make a challenge to each other with target’s dollar bin. On this challenge we decided to use $1 plastic bin makeover. At first I did not have any clue what I was planning to do with this bin. I did not have anything that I need to organize or needed to use for so what to do? Then when I was outside watering my succulent it came to me! Why not use it as a planter for my many succulents. However, just having a white bin was not going to do it. I always need to do something extra.
I had two vision for the bins and I did not know which one I was going to like most so I decide to to both and see which one looks best at the end. The good thing is that I got two white bin for $1!
The first bin I used black chalkboard paint and I sprayed it. I also did a couple of hole on the bottom to make sure the water will drain if I over water it.
I then spray painted the other white bin with silver metallic paint.
Once it was ll dried I added the soil and my succulents.
Now tell me which plastic bin makeover looks best to you? I am thinking of keeping one on my porch and one in my home. I do love having greenery in the home. Come and take a look at what my other fellow bloggers did with their dollar bins.
