Happy New Year everyone!!
Our New Year was great, we had good company, bad food and drinks. My last week of 2011 was just horrible and I just wanted to go out with a bang!
Today we are going to start 2012 right and with a DIY project! Last year I started a chandelier over my dining room table and I placed glass ornaments to hang from the ceiling. Each clear ornament has a little story of their own. If you Click here you will see what some of the ornaments have inside them. I also have frosted ornaments which has little celebration lights.
Below you can see how they illuminate the dining room. The lights are not super strong but they add that extra punch to any decor. I actually had them on for New years.
I have 15 clear ornaments and 12 frosted ornaments hanging above my table.
When you have the lights on you can still see some of the lights on but it looks so nice with the lights off.
I have each ornament hanging with a white thread and a thumb tac attached to the ceiling. If you have lived in apartment buildings then you know the walls are not made for placing decor. Using a nail will leave a big hole that you will need to fill before you move or you will lose some of your deposit. So I use thumb tac to put things up on the walls and they hardly leave any damage on the walls.
I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year and wish you nothing but the best for 2012!!
