I am sorry guys I miss a day on my 14 days of blogger interviews. I just have not been feeling well lately. My little family has been sick for the past week and we also had family visiting. Now with out further adieu I have I have Crafting Rebellion answering a few questions. I just love to see everything she comes up with. She has a very rock and roll vibe to me and I just love it. Here she is!
1. The one question that you all might get asked the most is, What got you in to blogging?
I was interested in a side project I could do from my home
2. What made you decide to blog about crafting?
I
wanted to post about something I would be good at. I read an article
somewhere that said you become an expert after doing something for more
than 3,000 hours. In many cases the magic number was 10,000 hours. That
made me really think and the definite answer for me was crafting. I
remember crafting as far back as the second or third grade in school
when we could bring in something to do during "quiet time". It was the
70's and I remember working on this very elaborate safety pin jewelry
project where you put tiny beads on safety pins and linked them together
to become a bracelet and necklace. Over the last 30+ years I have tried
so many crafts that I feel I have a good understanding of how to
demonstrate. I have even volunteered at a senior center teaching crafts.
One of my seniors was 103! She loved soapmaking.
3. What other talents do you have that your bloggers might not know about?
I am into weight training and fitness. I competed in a bikini figure contest a couple of years ago.
4. Do you have any advice to new bloggers?
Your
first posts will seem very difficult. It took me about one month to get
my feet wet. Do not give up. Give it at least a couple months to get
the ball rolling. Also I think good photographs are very important. My
photos definitely improved over the first couple months.
5. Do you feel competition from other bloggers?
No
I think you feel inspired. I like to see what other people are
creating. Everyones style is so individual. I am pretty picky that I
want to post unique projects so if I see something on another blog that I
was thinking of making I scratch it off my list of ideas. I don't want
to post something that has been done unless I think it could be done
differently.
6. What's your favorite craft project?
My Rock Your iPhone project. My iphone and I are inseparable.
7. What blogger do you admire the most or what blog do you visit the most?
I really like www.galadarling.com I love her unique fashion style and posts.
8. Where do you see your blogging career taking you?
I
would like to grow my blog and publish some craft books. My Daughter is
8 and she really wants to start craftingrebellion Jr (cool crafts for
kids) so that is on my to do list.
9. Where do you see your blog in five years?
Going strong I hope!
10. How many hours a week do you spend blogging?
Hmmm
that really depends on the project. Some projects are very fast, but I
need at least a few hours to photograph them and create the tutorial. I
am guessing 15. Some weeks less, some more.
11. If you are a new blogger do you seek help from others?
I have emailed some bloggers to ask them advertising questions. Everyone is very nice and helpful!
12. How many post do you typically put up on a week?
2-3
Anything else you would like to add?
Thanks for choosing me to be interviewed, I am most honored!
Thank you!
I hope you all like it as much as I did!
Till Tomorrow, I promise!
