Another wonderful day of blogger interview! I am happy to introduce Vivienne from V Spot!
1. The one question that you all might get asked the most is, What got you in to blogging?
I started blogging because I am a terrible scrap-booker. My kids are hilarious, especially the youngest, so I just started chronicling their funny little stories. Then I started writing down some of my own... then I just started posting more and more of my life, which includes lots of crafting, DIY, etc.
2. What made you decide to blog about crafting?
It wasn't a decision as much as it was a natural evolution.
3. What other talents do you have that your bloggers might not know about?
I am a former speech & debate coach. I used to compete in regional and even a few national college debate tournaments, then went on to coach students. My BA is in Public Administration with a focus on policy development, so I have done speech writing for state congress people; worked on policy development and community outreach for a large city; and have worked on political campaigns with a PR company. But.... now I stay home, wrangle my kids and blog.
4. Do you have any advice to new bloggers?
5. Do you feel competition from other bloggers?
Sometimes, but then I step on the feeling and squash it until it's dead. Inspiration is good though.
6. What's your favorite craft project?
I have lots of them (they're like children so it's hard to choose a favorite) but my subway art pieces and cowhide dresser are among my favs.
7. What blogger do you admire the most or what blog do you visit the most?
I have lots of bloggers that I admire for different reasons. Some, I love their projects; some, I love their personalities... I do not get to visit as many blogs as I would like.
8. Where do you see your blogging career taking you?
I am hopeful that it takes me to a place where I can just continue to "do my thing" and have people respond. It's very gratifying to make something or write something and have people respond positively.
9. Where do you see your blog in five years?
I don't think there's a way to judge that, but see above.
10. How many hours a week do you spend blogging?
I probably spend an average of 6 to 8 hours a day... that includes creating content (projects), photographing tutorials, photo editing, writing of the actual post, networking and promoting on social media and linking project to parties.
11. If you are a new blogger do you seek help from others?
I'm an old blogger and I still seek help from others. :)
12. How many post do you typically put up on a week?
I try to post every day but Sunday. Anything else you would like to add? There's no right or wrong, there's no magic formula. Twitter and social media networking is one of the best ways to connect with other bloggers and learn. Just get out there. Ask questions, people are happy to provide answers.
I hope you all enjoyed todays journey with Vivienne!
Till Tomorrow.
